Outside News Sources

You will not be able to rely on traditional media sources once they are targeted by the new Administration. There is still wonderful investigative reporting done in the U.S., and I am a big believer in paying for my news (remember: if you’re not PAYING for news, it isn’t news…it’s infotainment, at best). Learn and follow non-U.S. news organizations that are not as susceptible to influence or coercion:

• Reuters
• The Guardian
• The Economist
• BBC
• Der Spiegel
• Agence France-Presse
• Financial Times
• Al Jazeera English

Vet everything. You’ll see a lot of things posted that either disgust you or support your preconceived beliefs, but vet all information first. The Bannon playbook, in his own words, is “Flood the zone with shit” and the vast majority of “news” spread on social media is either misconstrued, misinformation, or bullshit. Get better at vetting information. Check multiple news outlets before believing it. If you’ve only seen it on Reddit or YouTube or [shudder] TikTok, it isn’t “news”.
